2018年5月21日下午4点,应kaiyun开云官方网站邀请,美国休斯顿大学Olafs Daugulis教授在化学馆321报告厅做了题为“New Methods for C-H Bond Functionalization”的学术报告。此次报告由kaiyun开云官方网站余达刚教授主持,冯小明院士、游劲松教授、刘小华教授、高戈教授、曾小明教授、余志鹏教授、王天利教授、郑柯教授、付海燕教授等老师及员工参加了报告会。
在报告中,Daugulis教授首先介绍了碳氢键活化的重要意义和一些代表性进展,指出了该领域中存在的关键科学问题,然后介绍了他课题组利用双齿导向基实现的一系列高效高选择性碳氢转化反应,重点介绍了从贵金属(钯)催化到廉价金属(铜和钴)催化的研究进展。最后,还介绍了他课题组最近利用羧酸导向实现的钴催化碳氢转化研究。整场报告内容丰富,Daugulis教授讲解深入浅出,师生获益匪浅。在随后的自由提问环节,在座师生以碳氢活化领域的前沿热点以及研究内容相关问题与Daugulis教授进行了热烈讨论。报告在热烈的掌声中落下帷幕,结束后部分老师与Daugulis教授合影留念。
Prof. Olafs Daugulis received PhD degree (1999) at University of Wisconsin-Madison, working with Prof. E. Vedejs. He was a postdoctoral associate at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with Prof. M. Brookhart (2000-2003). He is currently professor and R. A. Welch Chair at the department of chemistry, University of Houston. Prof. Daugulis is a recipient of many prestigious awards, including Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award (2008), A. P. Sloan Fellowship (2008), Normann Hackerman Award in Chemical Research (2013), ACS Cope Scholar Award (2014), and a Foreign Member of Latvian Academy of Science.His research interest is focused on new metal-catalyzed organic reactions and polymer chemistry.
