In October 27thand 28th, a series of academic activities were organized to celebrate the 110thAnniversary of the Chemistry discipline of Sichuan University. During the event, our university was visited by the following masters in Chemistry: Prof. Jean-Marie Lehn, French chemist reputed as "Father of Supramolecular Chemistry" and winner of the 1987 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, Prof. Amos B. Smith III, editor-in-chief of Organic Letters and professor of the University of Pennsylvania, Prof. Gregory C. Fu, associate editor-in-chief of Journal of American Chemistry Society and professor of California Institute of Technology, Prof. Scott J. Miller, editor-in-chief of Journal of Organic Chemistry and professor of Yale University, Prof. Tamio Hayashi, editor-in-chief (Japan Division) of Tetrahedron: Asymmetry and professor of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, etc. They delivered 5 academic reports at Chemistry Hall 321.

The reports made by these five well-known chemists with humorous and witty language aroused the interest of teachers and students present. After the report, five masters had in-depth exchanges with the audience, patiently listened to the work reports made by young scholars from the related disciplines of the College of Chemistry of SCU, and encouraged the youth to equip themselves with the spirit and courage for scientific exploration.
This series of reports was chaired by Academician Feng Xiaoming, Prof. You Jingsong, Prof. Hu Changwei and Prof. Jason Chruma of the College of Chemistry, SCU, and attended by related experts, scholars and students from Sichuan University, Sichuan Normal University, Chengdu University and other institutions.
